Capt. Josh Baran

Captain Josh has lived a life full of adventure, both on land and at sea. Growing up racing through motocross trails, mastering BMX tricks, and fishing in the great outdoors, his love for exploration started early. Later in life, he found his true calling—sailing—a passion that transformed his world and brought joy, excitement, and purpose to every moment on the water.

Leaving the corporate world behind to embrace this lifestyle wasn’t an easy decision. Captain Josh cherished his time with his Yamaha family, where he thrived as a leader, mentor, and supporter of countless colleagues and partners. But the ocean called, and answering it meant turning the page to a new chapter of freedom, adventure, and sharing unforgettable experiences with others.

Today, Captain Josh sails alongside his beautiful partner and first mate, Tamara—chef extraordinaire and co‑adventurer—making every voyage not just a journey, but a celebration. Together, they’ve built a life filled with joy, discovery, and delicious meals on deck.

As a proud father of two amazing children, Captain Josh draws inspiration from his family every day. Whether harnessing the wind or teaching life lessons, his approach is always rooted in passion, care, and a belief that each moment is an opportunity to make someone’s day better.

Chef Tamara is a powerhouse of talent and versatility, with over 20 years of experience managing businesses, strategizing sales, and tackling challenges head‑on. Her journey has taken her through diverse career paths, including massage therapy and nutrition, giving her a unique ability to understand and cater to everyone’s dietary needs and preferences.

Now serving as First Mate and Chef Extraordinaire, Tamara’s culinary creations are crafted with both skill and care, ensuring that every dish is tailored to the tastes and needs of those onboard. Captain Josh lovingly refers to her superpower as “the Scheduler,” a skill that keeps their adventures smooth and stress‑free. Together, they’ve crossed oceans, earned their USCG Captain certifications, attended culinary classes, and lived as full‑time liveaboard sailors while visiting over 20 countries.

Effortlessly balancing tactical precision with light‑hearted fun, Tamara ensures every voyage is memorable—whether navigating the seas or serving up a meal that’s as thoughtful as it is delicious. She looks forward to curating bespoke experiences that delight your palate, invigorate your spirit, and leave you with stories to share long after the journey ends.
